In a residential garden, with an installed sprinkler system, at what time and for how long should the sprinkler system be run on the night of a forecast of frost? I read the answer (http://www.madsci.org/posts/archives/feb98/ 887039171.Ag.r.html) by Eric J. Biddinger, a grad student in the Department of Horticulture at Penn State. It dealt with the subject of protecting crops from freeze and frost. To expand on the question posed above, 1. Is it wise to program a residential sprinkler system to spray in the middle of the night when a frost is forecast? 2. If it is wise, then at what time should the sprinkler system be programmed to start? 3. And how long should the spraying last? Thank you. Thank you. R. Collins Val
