I've recently read that the ancient Egyptians used diamonds to shape glass
and pottery and that it's been theorized it may be possible to use a laser
to "play back" the grooves so-etched as though they were a recording.
Is this possible and if so, has it been attempted?
Thank you very much in advance.
a very curious armchair historian
