Tyre gardens are when farmers plant their crops in tyres from cars. They do this to conserve space and to use less water per plant area. That is, to improve the water usage and better the plant control. They prevent water evaporating from the plant's surface, at a fast rate, which they need to photosynthesize. I have seen the tyres being painted white to stop insects from attacking the plant. Still, I have no idea how or why it does this. May it have any reason to do with the fact that white surfaces reflect more light than back surfaces? Does the strong light blind them in some way?
