Subject: What is the Jordan Separation Theorem and how does it relate to cable companies?

Hi MadSci - I know you guys tell us to visit Dr. Math for math questions, 
but I haven't heard back from them, and I'm still wondering what this is!
A friend was telling me it had to do with topology which I always thought 
was knots, and that the cable companies use it when laying cables.
He doesn't know what is it, and I looked on the internet to no avail..
I'd like to be able to impress my buddies when they come over next week for 
the superbowl. :)

I had two semesters of calc as an undergrad, so you can dish out some math 
and I won't cringe.
