I answered that question; I didn't bother to properly balance the equation since my purpose was to show that there's a near-perfect oxygen balance in the molecule; that is, it contains all the oxygen needed to "burn itself" -- bonded to nitrogen so the oxygens are easier to break loose!

The correct, balanced equation is:

C3H5N3O9 ® 3 CO2 + 5/2 H2O + 3/2 N2 + 1/4 O2
