Dandruff, is usually referred to as the excesive desquamation of the scalp.
Usually caused by the skin disease called Seborrea. Hair is not necessary 
for
this disease to occur,  nor is it confined to the scalp.  It is frequently
found behind the ears in that hairless part.    RM
