I'm sorry to here about your friend . (I'm not from the U.S. so I don't 
know about he hospitals you mentioned above) But I know a little about the 
disease called "multiple system atrophy" ... (I also looked on the internet 
for some clues ...and pasted it on the bottom of this mail) As far as I 
know, multiple system atrophy, is a nerve cell disease in which some area's 
of nerve cells in your brain die. And we still don't know what causes it or 
what to do about it ...
