Subject: How does an egg shell works like a cell membrane when osmosis happens?

Like when Iput the egg in white vinegar the egg grows bigger and when I 
put it in white thick syrup the egg becomes smaller and rubbery. I just 
want to explain in a project how does osmosis occur on the egg when I put 
it in this fluids. Thanks.
