Jonathan,

Yes, other galaxies have names. At least, astronomers often give them names when we study them. The names come from several sources: sometimes they refer to some feature of the galaxy (e.g. the 'Sombrero Galaxy'), sometimes the name refers to the constellation the galaxy is found in (e.g. the Andromeda galaxy), and sometimes the name is a catalog number or the galaxy's coordinates in the sky. See this answer for more details. Many galaxies have several names.

Not all other galaxies have names - the ones that do are mostly nearby objects that are bright, or objects that have been well-studied for some reason. And of course we don't know what the beings who live in other galaxies (if there are any!) call their galaxies.

To see lots of pictures of galaxies, check out Astronomy Picture of the Day and Hubble Space Telescope Pictures.

Pauline
