I am growing cultures from my toilet in blood agar, high sugar agar, and a
petri dish with nothing in it. My mom is a nurse and is helping me, but
she said I must find out why the bacteria will not grow well in a high
sugar environment. My mom said sugar cured hams help keep bacteria counts
low. Why?? If you can lead me to some information I'd be so happy! My
science fair is on the 9th of March this Thursday.
Thank you, Cassi Brown age 13. I want to be a food scientist.
