The best solutions I have found are quiet similar and you should choose the one most appropriate.

The first one involves boiling a saucepan full of cheap vinegar until the house is filled with the smell of the vinegar, then open the windows and flush fresh air through the house. Then apparently once the vingear smell disapates the skunk scent will have too.

The second involves leaving jars or pans of vinegar or weak ammonia solution lying around the house , this works the same way as the boiling only a little slower. But I dont advise this if you have small children in the house, vinegar and especially ammonia can be very harmful to young skin and eyes.

Oh yeh as for the dog a couple of things will work, the old tomato juice bath, not so good if you have a white dog(it will turn them pink for awhile). A bath in vinegar is OK, if the dog can stand it and keep it away from their nose and eyes. A gentler one is using vanilla essense on a rag and wipe the effected area, good for the nose etc. For a really strong smell this peroxide wash could be good. Make it up as follows: 1 Quart of 3% Hydrogen Peroxide
1/4 cup of Baking Soda
1 teaspoon of Liquid Soap
Wash while mixture is bubbling... rinse off with tap water.

OK hope that helps
