Subject: How to prove if I am truly allergic to fish

I nearly died whn I ate salmon many years ago it had happened wtih haddock
now I never eat fish but I am wondering how to prove if I am truly allergic
can you avise?


thank you for your input  what I really am looking for is whether or not
there is a test for fish.shellfish allergy  I heard there is a blood test but
my doctor doesn't seem to be able to give me direction on this and since I
have high cholesterol I thought maybe I could eat the fish again  is it true
that each time one gets an allergic reation it gets worse??  Thanks again
for your time.  At least someone helped me .  Igf you could just answer these

Hi - I would recommend discussing your allergy with your physician. He or 
she is in the best position to determine the pathophysiology, or cause, 
behind the allergic reactiona, and may be able to recommend some testing to 
possiibly determine a cause. However, it is often not possible to narrow 
down the exact cause of an allergy, and I would *strongly discourage eating 
fish*  as a means for pursuing the cause of the allergy.
