In hydroponics, you can grow virtually any plant that normally grows in soil. 
Epiphytes, such as Spanish moss, naturally grow on trees so do not require soil. 
Many parasitic plants, such as mistletoes, are epiphytic. Floating aquatic 
plants do not require soil.
