I know that acidified dichromate (VI) ions act as an oxidising agent for
Aldehydes and Ketones (Carbonyls). But I don't understand or am able to
find out how the oxidation state of the chromium changes when it carries
out oxidation. It does doesn't it ? And does it differ with the carbonyl
that it's oxidising. I hope that this makes sense
