Dear Batia,
In answer to your question, It is malfunctions of the blood circulation
system itself which are usually inherited, these show up as poor blood
flow leading to high blood pressure. This is very commonly seen as an
inherited disorder which will cause damage to the heart if left
undiagosed. Very commonly heart disease is brought on by a persons
lifestyle but there is no clear evidence to suggest that the off-spring of
two people with heart disease will inherit the same disorder.

Congenital heart disease, such as malformation or under development of the
heart that occurs during a childs development in the womb, tho' not
inherited directly, is sometimes seen as being more common in certain
races as well as being blamed on the life style of the parent,eg. using
certain types of drugs during pregnancy.
