I was teaching "tranpsort of oxygen in blood" when I come across the
structure of heme in erythrocyte. I realise that its structure is of the
same class as chlorophyll and even cytochromes in the electron transport
system of mitochondrion. I wonder if there is any significance for this to
happen, and if there are any special characteristics about this kind of
molecule.
