We switch to Standard Time (go off Daylight Savings Time (DST)) in late
October about 2 months before the winter solstice. We switch to DST over
3 months after the winter solstice (early April). Why is this changeover
not symmetrical around the solstice, i.e. why don't be go back on DST in
late February?
