Some brakes seem to work better than others. Can one type of brake stop a
vehicle faster than others, assuming that both brakes can go as far as lock
the wheels completely ? If so, is the kinetic energy of the vehicle lost
as heat generated by the brakes ? Theory would suggest that air-cooled
brakes will stop a car faster because more heat can be dispersed.
Tom.
