Dear Jon,

You are correct in noting that crows and ravens are different from each
other. These birds are recognized as being among the smartest of our
feathered friends. Crows and ravens can learn to mimic words and phrases,
they can live up to 20 years of age, and they are very clever "thieves".

It is unlikely that these birds would nest in a duck box. They are known
to build rather flimsy nests in trees, and ocassionlly on cliffs, from 50
to over 100 feet high. Duck boxes on the other hand are generally only a
few feet off the ground.
