Subject: Why do Electric Motor only use one pole of each Electromagnet?

Would'nt Electric Motors(those with electromagnets in the rotor and stator) be much more efficient if they utilized both poles of each electromagnet that is in the rotor and stator to produce rotation, instead of only utilizing one pole of each electromagnet as they All do!
