MadSci Network: Medicine |
Hi Gene. A few of the 'Mad Scientists' who answer questions on this site are actually medical students. You can email them and see if they are willing to answer your questions. But if I were you, I wouldn't worry about medical school yet. Since you are still in highschool, you should think about getting into an undergraduate program at the university of your choice. It doesn't matter what you study as long as you get good marks. Once you get there, you can probably meet medical students through friends and ask them whatever that you want to know. The following website is a medical student's advice for medical school applicants. http://www.tmc .tulane.edu/student/abutler/advice.html This website is really great. You've got to try it. http://www.medicalstudent.com/ The following websites are also good sources of information. School of Medicine http://medicine.wustl.edu/admi ssions/ Association of American Medical Colleges http://www.aamc.org/stuapps/st art.htm American Medical Student Association (AMSA) http://www.amsa.org/ U.S. News Medical School Rankings htt p://www.usnews.com/usnews/edu/beyond/gradrank/med/gdmedt1.htm And finally my own website where you can look up medical articles using Pubmed and see my creative side! http://www.geocities.com/A thens/Troy/7063 Always a pleasure.
