The answer is not much effect at all.  The real benefit of taking exercise 
is to reduce the 'at rest' heart rate and at the same time speed up the 
time it takes for your heart rate to return to your 'at rest' rate. Say 
you adopt a gentle jogging programme, over time, the benifits to your 
heart rate can be imense. I guess this would give the illusion of being 
able to take bigger breaths,
