Dear Adam,

The official word from IUPAC (the International Union of Pure and Applied Chemistry) is found in this article.

I would be shocked if WebElements is not up-to-date with IUPAC; Mark Winter is a stickler for using the IUPAC rules on his site.

Meitnerium is named for the Austrian physicist Lise Meitner.
