We have been studying the electromagnetic spectrum and I would like more
information how UV or gamma rays are used to sterilize perishable food
stored at room temperature. Milk in Europe and Australia is sold in liter
cartons which are stored at room temperature on shelves for months. Do
they use ultraviolet or gamma rays for sterilization? Are other foods,
like Jello pudding cups (in plastic containers), preserved using UV rays?
