You are asking a very interesting question but you might want to think 
carefully about the design of your experiment. Mice, like many other 
animals, communicate a great deal via smell, and they have very sensitive 
noses. Thus, mouse 2 might smell mouse 1 in the maze and sniff out his or 
her path. I'm not sure if this is what you mean by "tell". If they 
communicate by residual scent, then mouse 2 will "learn" the maze even if 
the mice are kept separated.
