Subject: How do agrotextiles work?

Hello

I am researching the subject of agrotextiles for my job as we manufacture 
industrial fabrics including geotextiles.  By agrotextiles I am refering 
to the use of fabrics for landscaping, horticulture and agriculture 
applications.  They generaly protect the soil/crops from hail, wind, sun, 
insects and other pests.  I have found limited information on the internet 
and would realy appreciate some advice or suggestions for further 
searching.
