I wish to learn more about the star Sirius. I believe it's mass is
slightly less than 3 solar masses and it is 8.7 light years from the
Earth. Will Sirus transition into a nova or supernova? How long will it
remain a main sequence star? How will the forces generated at the time
Sirius enters into a nova or supernova phase affect or effect the Earth?
Is there any evidence that the Earth has interacted with the affects or
effects of a nova or supernova in the past? How can I learn more about
novas and supernovas?
Sincerely,
Thomas R. Kelly
