Only two types of materials conduct at room temperature those with mobile
electrons (metals and graphite) and those with mobile ions (some foods).
Acidic foods like lemons and oranges have a lot of acid (citric acid) in
them which provides the ions which can conduct the electricity. Other
foodstuffs havelittle or no free ions so cannot conduct. Acids produce
Hydrogen ions H+ and are found in many foods.
