Hi Ariel Joints that pop are quite common - most kids have an annoying habit of cracking their fingers which usually drives their parents mad! Joints are held together by ligaments, and muscles are joined to bones around the joints by tendons. These tendons are hard gristly things which slide up and down inside sleeves or sheathes, rather like brake cables on bikes. Lubricating fluid keeps the inside of these sleeves moist and allows the tendons to slide up and down freely, but sometimes the tendon gets a bit sticky and when it gets stretched, frees itself inside its sleeve with a pop. In truth I don't think anyone knows exactly for sure why joints do pop like this, but this is as good an explanation as I've come across. Best wishes Doc C-P
