Hi Kerney,

Daddy-long legs (scientific order: opiliones), also known as harvestmen in europe, are not serious pests because they do not damage buildings or destroy food. They appear in houses during humid weather and can be removed with a broom and dustpan. Sweep them up and put them in a bag. Take that bag on a walk into the woods and dump them out there, well away from your home. They prefer living in areas with organic debris, so make sure there is nothing lying around your house that might make a suitable habitar for them. Their life inside a house is considerably shortened due to lack of food and when the weather becomes less humid, they will either die or find somewhere more suitable to live. You can also discourage them from entering your home by keeping leaf litter away from the walls of your home.
