My only experience with antelopes is with the african variety - duikes,
springboks, kudu etc that are endemic to Africa. Like most mammals in a
terrestrial environment, sleeping does not necessarily occur during the
day and when they do, they sleep in groups; usually in areas the herd
feels safe. Areas that offer the most cover to a lying down animal are
favoured, (like long grass, heavy forested areas etc.) since this at least
removes the antelope from the visual scope of predators (leopard, lion
etc.)

As with all animals that are sleeping, they sleep lightly and wake up
quickly at the first sign of any threat!

Kind regards,

Alastair Lyon
