Good question. The aorta as you know supplies oxygenated blood to the entire body. And that does include the lungs, too. Infact the Bronchial arteries which are branches of the other major arteries from the aorta (like the spinal branches and the others) indirectly supply oxygenated blood to the tissues of the lung. The main arteries to the lung from the heart ( the pulmonary arteries ) carry the deoxygenated blood from the right side of the heart to the lungs to be oxygenated and cleared of carbon di oxide. this blood then comes back via the pulmonary veins to the left side of the heart and gets pumped via the left ventricle to the body via the aorta. The names of the pulmonary arteries and veins are misleading in the sense that pulmonary arteries unlike other areteries do not carry oxygenated blood and the pulmonary veins unlike other veins do not carry deoxygenated blood. May be I can attach a picture in the furture if you would like but I am sure you have access to anatomy books. Thanks I hope that helps
