Real measurements on real data contains errors. The art of measurement is
eliminating the errors, and a good way of assessing the error is by a
percentage.

We simply say %error = (Measured result-expected result)/expected result

all multiplied by 100

Of course the question of "expected result" is difficult to assess. If you
have enough data then perhaps a simple mean (average) would be ok. In
advanced measurements we use statistical measurements like Standard
Deviation and variance to determine where the expected result is hiding.

Hope this helps

Steve
