When I visited the island of Martinique last winter I took an excursion to climb the volcano there. The walk with a guide to the top took us threw a small tropical rainforrest on the slopes of the volcano. Our guide then pointed our attention to some sort of ferny tree which he refered to as a 'Jurasic Park Tree' claiming the tree (the species) was there when dinosaurs walked the earth. Can that be true, and if it is true, are there more species of plants and animals that are very old and still excisting today?
