Most Text books say that the colors of the visible spectrum (the rainbow) are Red, Orange, Yellow, Green, Blue, Indigo, and Violit. However, I heard or saw somewhere about a year or two ago that Indigo wasn't considered a color of the visible spectrum. I checked it up on Microsoft Encarta 99, and sure enough, it stated the colors excluding indigo and actually stated that indigo "...was formerly considered a color of the spectrum." I was wondering why this is.
