i need to know what living conditions maggots (not really a specific type, just the regular king that fisermen use, the pinky ones) prefer, i think it may be dark and damp conditions but need to know why, what is it about these conditions that attracts them. i did an experiment setting up a choice chamber with 4 compartments for them with light/dry, light/damp, dark/dry, dark/damp, conditions and found that most went to the dark damp side. please tell me the preferred conditions for maggots and why. also i need to know what type of behaviour it is, i think it is a taxis, but need to know why it may be this rather than any other, eg , kinesis. please help me!
