Dear Ella,

You have probably read in the news that scientists have been able to clone
different animals such as: sheep, pigs or mice. In theory, the technology
exists to clone a human being. However, at the moment, most countries have
laws that prevent the cloning of humans. The implications of cloning a human
is still very much in debate. The development of policies regulating cloning
of humans will probably evolve over time

To learn more about cloning, I suggest you look at the Mad Scientist
archives and search for cloning.

You can also look at the following link:
www.madsci.org/posts/archives/mar2000/95253118.Cb.r.html, where I have
explained the difficulties of cloning a specific organ. Currently, there are
studies in which scientists are looking at the cloning of tissues and organs
instead of cloning an entire human being.

Good luck and have fun with science!
Elsa Lee
