Message:
I've always been told by endocrinologists that alcohol is bad for
diabetics because it turns to sugar once consumed. A while back I got
into an argument with a drunk dietician who claimed that alcohol did not
become sugar when metabolized. Please explain the process by which
alcohol consumption raises blood sugar levels in diabetics. Thank you.
