I am writing a simple model for protein prudcution and have got stuck. My
genes have a single promoter and single inhibitor region. I am trying to
avoid the need for differential equations by taking small time slices. Over
these time slices, I am trying to calculate the amount of protein produced.

I can do all of the promoter inhibitor bit, once of got the binding
algorithm sorted.

As I see it, I need to work out the time between binds and the ammount of
time the promoter binds for. This will give me the average production time
over some period of time. I know quantites such as ammount of protein
present and affinity of the bind, but don't know what to do with them.

250 words is a bit small to explain this :)
