Dear Carrie,

Rubisco is a protein that is found in plants that is involved in the complex
processes of carbon fixation and photorespiration. These processes
involve pathways that help plants convert the energy they receive from
sunlight into energy that the plant can use. These are complex biochemical
reactions and many scientists are studying rubisco and its important role in
plants. That is why when you are searching the internet for rubisco, you
are finding very long scientific papers filled with chemical names that you
probably do not recognized from your textbook.

I have found a few sites that may help you with your report:
http://photoscience.la.asu.edu/photosyn/education/photointro.html
http://opbs.okstate.edu/~Blair/Bioch4113/1999%20Student%20Presentations/
Rubisco%20-%20Gianna/sld002.htm

I would highly recommend that you go to your local library and look up both
photosynthesis and rubisco in either an encyclopedia or a botany textbook.
These resources will give you a more basic knowledge and probably will not
have all the complex scientific terms.

Good luck and if you have anymore questions, please feel free to email me.
Have fun with science!
Elsa
