Aging only affects short term memory. when older people start to loose long
term memory it is usually because of some sort of disease, like
alzheimer's. As far as tests go for short term memory I would sugest the
memory game. You have probably played it before although it might have been
called matching. It is pretty simple actually. You take twenty or so cards
(two of each kind, ex. two aces, two fours, etc.) and lay them in four rows
of five and let the person see them face up. Then you turn them over and
tell them to point out the matches. You should get people from different
age groups to take this test, and make sure you get a couple of people from
each age group. For example you could get four people in their teens and
four people in their twentys, thirtys, fourties, and so on. That would
probably be the best way to approach this. I hope this helps. If you want
some information on memory loss and aging to help you try these web sites:

thanks
