My thought is that the mass of the earth is increasing while the mass of
the sun is decreasing. The earth's mass is increasing because it is
constantly bombarded with stuff from space. On the other hand, the sun is
radiating energy from its hydrogen fusion reactions. The fusion of four
hydrogen atoms result in the creation of a slightly lower mass helium
atom; therefore, the mass of the sun is decreasing? But wait! As for
earth, stuff from space falls into the sun. So, if it is true that the
sun's mass decreases due to fusion, and that the sun's mass increases due
to imported solar debris, what is the net effect?
