I was wondering if the way something tastes depends on on how it looks? I know that smell affects taste, but how about sight? It seems to me that sometimes people have preconcieved ideas about how something should taste because of the way it looks and so it affects the way it tastes. If this is true, how does it work? How would the eyes be connected to the tongue? I know as a joke we put red food coloring in water and let someone taste it. They said it was the worst punch they had ever tasted. It was just water and tasted like water. Why would they think it tasted so bad? I can't find any information on this.
