I am synthesizing tert-butyl chloride and tert-butyl bromine from tert-
butyl alchol by an SN1 mechanism. When I ran my product on Gas
Chromatograpy, I got the same amount of tert-butyl chloride as tert-butyl
bromide. I can't figure out Why? I thought that Bromine was a better
nucleophile than Chlorine???
