My project was: What is the effect of dye on natural verses synthetic
                 fibers?
Natural fibers: 100% Cotton, 100% Wool, 100% Silk, 100% Linen. Synthetic
fibers: 100% Polyester, 100% Rayon, 100% Acrylic, 100% Acetate, 100%
Nylon. All of my fabrics were obtained from Textile mills. I used 4
different dyes: Direct Dye, Acid Dye, Reactive Dye and Disperse dye. All
of the dyes I made myself. I dyed all of the different kinds of fabrics
in each of the 4 different dyes. I then charted my results.
Would this project belong in the Bio-Chemistry area of the Science Fair
or just the Chemistry area? I'm confused because once the natural fibers
have been milled into fabrics doesn't the chemical makeup change?
-Thank you, Sammy
