Hi I used a copper amonnia solution to test for the presence of
monosaccharides, di and polysaccarides in several foods that an athlete
might
eat before working out. Coke, Honey, Gatorade, Past, Power bar, Wheaties,
Banana and Diet Coke were tested. I know that the chemistry of this test
involves the copper ions that change with mono, di and polysacchrides but I
need help explaining it simply. Can you help? I don't know that much about
chemistry. I am in 6th grade. Thank you. Brendan
