I'm doing Science Olympiad amphibians and reptiles and I've been having trouble
distinguishing between some of the colubrid genera, especially nerodia (salt
marsh) elaphe (rat and corn) thamnophis(garter, ribbon, line) masticophis
(whip) and some of the king snakes (lampropeltis). can you give me some
characteristics I could use to identify a specimen? Thanks.
