this question cropped up why looking at internal combustion engines and the
carnot cycle. i think understand the principles of each: that one occurs in a
short timespan and the other really slowly. but i read that one occurs without
energy transfer and the other without temperature change. isn't that the same
thing - if not, how can you get one without the other?
