My 6 year old son wanted to make slime at home. His hypothesis was that he
would need to mix liquids with solids. Of course this did not work. I would
like to give him and my class of kindergarteners a simple explanation of why it
did not work. We know about polymer chains and chemical reactions to a young
degree. Do we have safe and necessary supplies at home or school? What are
some simple polymers and what would we need to link them together to make
slime?
