Apparantly, spore colour mutants of the ascomycete fungus, Sordaria have
been used to study meiosis and are particularly suitable for this, I don't
really understand why this is. It is part of the NEAB Nuffield A Level
syllabus I am teaching to a private pupil. The question was asked as part
of a 7 mark essay question.
